Bees in A Stucco Or Brick Chimney?

Bees in a stucco chimney often enter through small cracks and gaps around flashing, or openings near the cap, then build their hive inside the hollow cavity. Because stucco can conceal entry points, activity may go unnoticed until you see bees consistently flying in and out of one area or hear buzzing inside the structure. Proper removal involves accessing the chimney cavity, safely removing the bees, and extracting all comb and honey to prevent odors, staining, and future infestations.

Bees building hives in brick chimneys is a common issue because chimneys provide a protected, hollow space that mimics a natural nesting cavity. Once inside, bees can quickly establish a colony, building comb that holds honey, wax, and brood deep within the structure. Over time, this can lead to dripping honey, strong odors, and secondary pest problems if the hive is not fully removed.
